Beat it to the Hard Rock fashion show
A new exhibition of clothing items from pop and rock superstars and legends including Madonna, Lady Gaga, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and Elton John go on display in the UK this summer, courtesy of a never-seen-before touring memorabilia exhibition produced by Hard Rock Cafe.
“Hard Rock Couture”, celebrating the strong relationship between music and fashion, previewed at Hard Rock Calling festival, June 29-30, at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London in the backstage VIP enclosure, before going on display to the public at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall from August 16 to 25, and then on to Hard Rock Cafe Manchester from August 30 to September 8.
Giving UK fans an up-close look at pieces such as Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” red leather jacket, a black-and-white spandex catsuit worn by Freddie Mercury on Queen’s 1978 Jazz tour plus items from The Killers, Elvis Presley, and The Who, the 20 pieces of wild, wonderful and historic clothing come from the legendary Hard Rock collection.
