Jan 2013 Catch up with your 50s, 60s & 70s icons

Welcome to the online version of The Beat magazine, the only monthly magazine dedicated to the Music and Stars of Rock‘n’Roll, R&B, Blues, and other music from the 50s, 60s & 70s.

Many of the original teenage heart-throbs of the 60s are celebrating 50 years of rock and roll. Some achieved fame and fortune, some had fame and fortune thrust upon them, and others – well, fame and fortune eluded some of them in the UK, the US and other parts of the world which was made richer by the sounds of the 60s.

Time has rushed by, but age and performing has not wearied them: from the biggest names to the not-so-big but talented artists and musicians, The Beat keeps audiences up-to-date with latest shows, travels, gossip and sadly notes the obituaries of those who have rock and rolled off this mortal coil. The music lives on, and The Beat is the only monthly magazine which gets close to the players and the fans regularly, drawing them together.

The Beat may only be a rock and roll monthly magazine but to many artists, promoters and fans all over the world, it is the life-blood of live shows in venues large and small.

Recently we introduced the definitive gig guide and the only one of its kind. If your favourite artist is performing somewhere, you will find it listed here, with links to the venue, along with ticket prices and other useful information where available.

UK and Ireland only.
