Jan 2014 Message from Dave Munden:

“On January 17, I am going into hospital to have a double knee replacement operation. I should be in for about five days and then I will be recuperating for anywhere from six weeks up to three months. I hope it will only be six weeks.

“I will not be able to play drums for quite a while, but I have asked Mark Ellen of Vanity Fare to play drums for me and he has agreed to do so.

He is on the tour backing other artists, anyway, and I am sure he will do a great job. As you know the tour involves us playing together with Brian Poole, so I will be out front singing and trying to pose next to Brian – either on crutches on a stool , or with a Zimmer frame!

“Hopefully I will get away with it. On a couple of dates, Jeff Brown, our bass player/ singer will be absent, so he will be replaced by Sandy Newman of Marmalade. Sandy has worked with us before and will do an excellent job.

“Before the tour starts, we have a few gigs scheduled – January 19, Nuremberg, January 26, Butlins Minehead – and I will be replaced by Phil Wright, the singing drummer of Paper Lace, who is a good friend.

“So I have quite an eventful start to the New Year to look forward to. Still, – it’s better than a PROPER job. All the best,”
