Percy Sledge pulled out of a UK tour last month because of liver cancer treatment, but was back to performing at a concert in Jamaica on March 1 after the surgery.

Sledge’s spokesman Mark Lyman said the ‘When A Man Loves A Woman‘ star underwent a procedure to have a cancerous polyp removed from his liver in January, and was advised by doctors against taking the long-haul trip from the US to the UK to give him more time to recover at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“The surgery wasn’t a big deal. He was in and out of the hospital in two hours,” said Lyman.

Percy, whose other hits included ‘Take Time To Know Her’, ‘Cover Me’, and ‘Warm And Tender Love’, had been due to appear on David Gest’s star-studded “Legends Of Soul Live Concert!” tour of the UK.
