Tommy is back in Liverpool
AMERICAN 60s pop singer songwriter Tommy Roe returns to Liverpool for the first time in more than 20 years to headline International Beatle Week,with two shows at the world famous Cavern Club on August 26.
In 1963, The Beatles opened for Tommy on his first UK tour, and after Beatlemania hit the USA, they asked him to open their first US concert at the Washington DC Coliseum on Feb 11, 1964. On Feb 11, 2014, Tommy performed at the same Coliseum for the 50th anniversary of the Beatles show.
Accompanying Tommy will be his long time musical director/guitarist Rick Levy. The Liverpool band The Shakers complete the backup.
Chris Montez is also on the bill, as he was on the 1963 UK tour.
