Dec 2016 David says he will miss us if we don’t go

There’s a show doing the rounds starring DJ and broadcasting legend ‘Diddy’ David Hamilton.

The Fab 50s and Swinging 60s show is hosted by David and he brings on the amazing live band The Fugitives and sensational singers, Ash Denver and the Tiffany Girls This fabulous show will make you smile, laugh, and most definitely make you feel like dancing and singing along.

The show brings you the hits of yesteryear and evokes memories of a bygone age, steeped in nostalgia and sprinkled with humour and unforgettable music from this magical era.

David began his career in 1959 and has hosted more than 12,000 radio shows and over 1,000 TV shows. He has hand-picked an amazing band of musicians, The Fugitives, and the sensational Tiffany Girls to accompany him on a nationwide tour of his two-hour show which transports the audience back to the time of beehives, miniskirts and hot pants.

During his illustrious career, David has worked with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Roy Orbison, Cliff Richard, P J Proby, David Cassidy, and a whole host of other major artists.

The show is laced with David’s little nuggets of information that could only be gained by someone who was actually there at this incredible time in popular music history. David tells the stories
behind the classic songs we all know and love, and the band storms through some of the greatest songs of the era.

David said: “Twice I hosted shows at the London Palladium with the band, The Fugitives. After the second show, they suggested we did a tour together. ‘Why not?’ I thought. They`re a great band and we got on very well together.

“I expected we’d do a dozen dates or so, but it grew and grew into a 35-theatre tour. It’s such a long tour that, by the time it’s over, I’ll be 35.

“They’ve put together a great show with two girl singers called The Tiffany Girls, and a boy singer, Ash Denver. The girls sing The Supremes and The Ronettes, and individually, Dusty Springfield and Cilla Black.

“Ash sings everyone from Cliff to Elvis to the Big O, and the band do instrumental hits from The Shadows and Santo and Johnny. They are the songs we all love, from the people we all love.

There is a big rock’n’roll finale, and at every single venue we`ve played, the audience has been dancing in the aisles at the end of the night. There`s lots of laughter, too, and some good banter between me and the band.

“Our last planned night was Epsom in November, but several theatres have re-booked us and, with some new venues, we`re continuing our tour into 2017. “Merry Christmas to all Beat readers, and do come and see us in the New Year!”
