Last chance tour?

Jul 2017 Last chance tour?

Why was Tom Jones on a beach in Cornwall to begin his 2017 tour, widely thought to be his last stage show live appearances.

Tom was in Perranporth, Cornwall, a venue very different to the world’s biggest stadiums where he is more likely to be billed.

The show was part of the summer’s Bands In The Sands series of gigs on Perranporth beach, this summer and organised by the Tunes In The Dunes Festival.

Other dates of the Tom Jones tour include:

June 30; Grange-over-Sands, Cartmel Racecourse
July 1; Cheshire, Delamere Forest
July 2; Scarborough, Open Air Theatre
July 8; Canterbury, The Spitfire Ground – St. Lawrence
July 9; Rugeley, Cannock Chase Forest
July 19; Esher, Sandown Park
July 23; Norfolk,Holkham Hall
August 5; Glasgow, Kelvingrove Park.

Tom follows these gigs with a European tour of venues in Israel, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, France and Majorca. Later this year he will be busy with shows in America.

The concerts mark a year since the death of the star’s beloved wife Linda from cancer. He told fans at the Hay Festival soon after her death that he didn’t know whether or not he would be able to carry on singing without her. Tom showed his commitment by continuing to perform.
