The top sixties model engages in enigmatic chat about being a hippie, rodeos, fear, and Beach Boys…

The year was 1966. It was the year Lyndon Johnson was the USA’s President, Walt Disney died, England won the World Cup, I got my first kiss in an ancient Indiana graveyard, and Georgie was a top teen model as well as a dancer on American TV’s most popular music programme, Where The Action Is.

She was the exceptionally cute energetic one with the long blonde hair and the ‘come hither’ eyes. Yes, Georgie was the perfect Sixties girl; what every teenage girl wanted to be, including me.

Imagine it!

She split her time between London and Los Angeles, worked in every aspect of the Arts from modelling to TV to movies to music, and eventually writing books and producing records. She even worked with Keith Moon and performed in rodeos, although not at the same time!

And she managed it all looking as fresh as a Sixties daisy, while walking hand in hand with her perfect Sixties boyfriend, the equally beautiful Gordon Waller of the hit pop duo Peter and Gordon.

Georgie and Gordon eventually married, though it was, sadly, not to be a successful union. Today, Georgie lives happily ever after somewhere in California with the amazingly talented Johnny Echols of the band Love.

Put the kettle on…

LA or London? LA now. My life is here.

Were the hippies right? We were a bit naive, but now, as an old hippy, yes, we were right!

If Gordon and Keith Moon were at our tea party today, what would you say to them?

To Gordon, I would ask “why?” To Keith, I would have to catch him up.

Do you sing in the shower? Rarely

Writing, modelling, producing, acting or ????? I enjoyed each and every one of those occupations. Now, I write about it all.

What was the first record you ever bought? Surfin’ by the Beach Boys, also, Duke of Earl and Lion Sleeps Tonight.

What was the last book you read? Fear by Bob Woodward

Who was your childhood celebrity crush?

The actor Jon Hall. He was a friend of my parents and I would always sit on his lap. He had been “Jungle Jim” I think.

Did your dreams come true? Still happening. Almost everything I envisioned has come round again.

What’s new? My new book! “As I Was Saying…” is the continuation of “In My Life, So Far…”.

Johnny is still new and exciting; wide open to the next chapter.

I hate to end this tea party although I feel I have certainly made a good friend here today. I just ordered her new book from Amazon, and I suggest you do the same as there is far more to Georgie’s story.

I can’t wait for our next cuppa and a catch-up.
